    Husky hooter.

My 701 hooter has been working intermittently and has now stopped working properly. The agents want just under R600 for a new one and will have to put it on order. Has anyone replaced theirs with an aftermarket hooter? I can get from Startline, but not sure if it will last. Thanks Mark.

    2016 Husky 701 engine noisy?

Hi, Just want to check with other owners if this sounds normal or does the engine sound clattery. ( can't think of a better word to describe it.) Still goes like hell though. No problems there. Thanks. Mark.

    Husky 701 exhaust insert

Hi, I am looking for the Akrapovic exhaust insert which is used on the 701 and possibly on the KTM 690. Mine has been removed, and although it sounds sweet around town, it gets a bit loud at highway speeds. If anyone has one that they are not using, that will be great. Here are some pictures of...

    X Challenge fuel pump

Hi, a while back while out on a ride my bike cut out. After fiddling around we found that the pin no.4 was badly burnt in the plug on top of the fuel tank. Made a hasty repair and shot home. Today I decided to sort it out. Drilled a hole in the lid, put in a bolt, lug and spade clip and...

    Xchallenge chain guide

Hi, I am looking for a chain guide for my Xchallenge. I see on page one of the Xc thread there is talk about them. I am slightly confused about the metal part of the chain guide. The rubber portion is available from KTM Durban for R180.00. Now I read in the thread that the metal bracket part is...

Now I am looking for a Xcountry side stand.

Hi, I am looking for a X Country side stand to fit on to my Xchallenge. The existing one is quite long and on level ground the bike is nearly in the vertical. Adding to the problem is my shitty driveway with an off camber and the height of the Xchallenge. So if anyone has a spare one of these...

Looking for a Xchallenge air box lid.

Hi. I am looking for an air box cover for my X challenge. This is the cover that screws down over the air filter with three screws. I bought the bike without one and I am not to keen with the air filter open to water, whether it be riding in the rain or washing the bike. I have the 16 litre...

Irritating smiley. Whack it or don't whack it? That is the question.

Hi Dogs, I have a small smiley on the front rim of my X challenge. I bought it like that. With slight OCD leanings, to me it looks like a large carbuncle on Jennifer Aniston's nose. I was thinking of whacking it with a short length of wood and a rubber mallet. I am petrified of breaking a spoke...

Pro Circuit exhaust quiet insert wanted.

Hi, I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction. I am looking for a quiet insert for my Pro Circuit T4s pipe on my DR650. This slip on is very loud and the deceleration popping can get embarrassing at times. These inserts are available mostly in the USA on line, but for what it is...

X Challenge spare key. Eish, so much of money.

Has any one had a spare key made for the XC or bought one from the agents?. I need a spare for just in case, but the agents want R500  for one. Then I think it still has to be cut. I don't think they are coded, so a local key smith should be able to make one.

    XC throttle very stiff.

I have heard all one needs to do to remedy the stiff throttle on the X Challenge is to unclip one of the springs on the throttle body. Which one is better to unclip?. The inner or outer spring?

X challenge fuel tank petcocks. ( Touratech)

Hi, has anyone needed to replace the fuel petcock rubbers and O rings or replace the whole petcock on their Touratech fuel tanks? Mine are pretty corroded and weeping around the outside of the tap.

    My 1190R coolant level.

Hi Ladies and Gents. I have noticed since the bike was new, that after the coolant level has been topped up to the half way mark, it only takes about 100km of riding until it is back to the lower level mark on the coolant bottle. Then this is where it stays until topped up again. It takes 200ml...

1190R high revs after fitting oxygen sensor eliminators

Hi, hopefully someone can help me out with my 1190 which is revving much higher now after fitting the O2 sensor eliminator dongles. Has anyone who has fitted them had the same problem, and is there a fix for this? The alternative is to remove them, which would be a pity as the bike performs so...

A big hello to everyone from the Bluff.

Hi all. Mark Dodkins here. I have been trolling around on this site for months now and have finally got around to introducing myself. I started riding again after about a 20 year break and am back on two wheels for the last eight years. Use the bikes for daily transport and 50/50 dirt when on a...
