Rietfontein gravel up to WHK if you want, otherwise gravel to KMHP and then tar to WHK. WHK - Outjo tar via Otjiwarongo is 320km, partly gravel via Omaruru about the same. Outjo is not the same as you remember it Chris. I were born in Outjo, first 10 years of my childhood in Welwitschia/Khorixas.

I am riding with BMW airflow jackets & pants and the mesh is standing up well on gravel slides. Never had an off with them on tar. Looking at getting the Revit airflow jacket & pants next year.

Deon, Which brand of bike clothing? I have bought a few mega size farms wearing airflow jackets. All of them hold up. When moving airflow jackets will be cooler than jackets with no or limited flow. Was riding Sunday in 41° heat and once moving it was not so bad.

Mesh jackets & bottled water as previously mentioned.

Thanks, I am not trying to view/follow the throphy, rather to avoid it should my plannned trip continue on the weekend the thropy comes to an end. All media states that it is closed event. With riders and marshalls we are looking at 60+ bikes for the throphy. Best of luck for you and your team.

The rear tyres do not like to run at low pressures. Under 2,4 bar they will start to crack. Google Dunlop Trailmax Mission cracking. I replaced mine after 8,000km due cracks starting. This was 90% gravel on a XT1200Z. Still waiting for Dunlop to get back to me on the old tyre. The riders that...
