Also think that in the WSBK, they were mostly always running against smaller capacity inline 4's (916 etc v 750's). I think that there was only one year where the 999 raced against the 1000 inline 4's, and won if memory serves, but the motor was so highly strung that it wasn't reliable. (and it...
They asked Ducati years ago why they never raced the Suzuka 8hr.........their answer was pretty straightforward - the motor wouldn't last for 8 hours. Suspect similar with a 24hr race.....
Things are clearly very different up there. That ain't going to work down here in the middle of the Tankwa / Cerberg / WesKus / Richtersveld / Namibia / pick the deserted area of your choice. You're going to be walking for a long time trying to get signal.........and be waiting even longer for a...
On my sister's mini back in the day, those speeds would have seen us with both back windows flipped open, with the heater on full to try to keep the old gal from overheating........
for sure. Definitely do a practice run or two! I've had a few punctures, but previously always had my riding mate's sidestand to use to break the bead.
I ride solo quite a bit now, and struggled on my own to break the bead. I do have a mainstand, so could use the sidestand to break the bead...
hahahaha.....I should send a photo of my garage and basement. Gramps was in construction, but was a carpenter by training. They built many of the big buildings in CT (LTA). When demolishing the old one's, he grabbed all the wood that he could. Teak, yellowood, oregon heart pine. I live in his...
It's an odd one.......that colour scheme came out in 94 and 95. The paint code says that it's a 94, but the engine and frame numbers point to 95. I suspect that it's a 95, and the paint code stayed the same as the previous year's model.
I think that the 94 / 95 were the last one's that came out...
Strapped on pretty easily. Did manage to splash petrol in my face the first time using it, when the nozzle flicked out of the tank.......heh. It did bring peace of mind - effectively took my range up to about 450km - 500 at a push.
Other way around.......the RD07 replaced the RD04. The RD07A replaced the RD07. There isn't a picture of the RD07 on that post - first one is RD04, and both of the others are RD07A's (can be seen by the "bump" on the front of the screen faring).
I've owned an RD07 for about 20 years.....
No criticism at all - just an observation. I was / am fussy about waxing and polishing the car - detailer explained to me to always apply and remove in straight lines - it prevents that "hologram" effect (ie circular micro scratches) that you get when polishing with circular motion. I think that...
"Biggest" change between the RD04 and RD07 was the airbox moving from under the seat to under the tank. The fuel capacity dropped by about 2l as a result 25l on the RD04 and 23l on the 07.
That Raiman clip that you posted with the XRV and XTZ - he has the RD04, and has posted /explained the...
Anyone know if the esselbank wuppertal rd is closed. Came through there now....and maybe should have taken the hint when the gate at esselbank was closed, as was the one on the oasis side when I got there. Holy smokes.......that road is a ruin......
for sure - I'm going to empty that thing as soon as possible - it's pretty big.
I've done the distances before, but usually end up having to slow down to about 60.......which makes for a bloody long day in the end.
Thanks. Ja, I have picked up fuel at stonehenge before. Going up to Gannaga on Sunday. And then down the other side to Oasis via Esselbank on Mon. Depending how heavy on the throttle I am, it has been a close scrape on fuel to do both before.
