    The small bike thread

True but also a pity about the weight gains vs HP, e.g. my '83 XT550 possibly weighed less than a CRF250 but made a lot more power & torque, so much so that I remember telling a friend, who owned an XT250 back then, that I'd never be seen on a 250 "scrambler". Fast forward 41 years, my current...

    The small bike thread

Sounds like a good deal to me. Rather strange that the 2014 model featured below still has a carb. Maybe EFI was introduced later that year. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2014/06/11/2014-kawasaki-klx250s-test-dual-sport-review/

    Bent main frame

Glad you found a replacement. Don't forget to do the "look Mom no hands" test-ride. One can also ride behind the bike you're planning to buy as a tweespoor bike can be quite easily detected from behind.

BMW R1300 GS PICS “ LEAKED”

Far exceeds my expectations! I'd have been disappointed with another minor facelift and a 50cc increase in engine size. I think those sexy sport-bike looks will attract even more adventure riders!

    L or Rally 300 circa 2023

Don't forget about CRF300LS. It has a lower seat height for the vertically challenged. Not sure of price or whether it's available in SA. CRF300LS - Dual Sport Motorcycle - Honda Powersports https://powersports.honda.com/motorcycle/dual-sport/crf300ls

New bike worth it? Advice needed

I never seem to view any posts below Dookie's. His sexy profile movie snippet is such a nice distraction!

Is the leisure bike market in SA dying ?

Scrolling down through my FB Beginner Bike Training site will give one a good idea of the type riders wanting to either learn to ride a bike or those just needing refresher training before buying an Adv bike - from last riding like 20/30 years ago. Note the amount of ladies.

    Big Boy Crossover 150x

I recently assisted one of my young lady bike learners in buying a new Big Boy Superlight 200. I rode it home from the dealership and stored it for her at my house (for easy lesson accessibility) Unfortunately, she never gained enough confidence to want to ride it (a bike with gears and clutch)...

    Honda CRF300L and 300 Rally

Verskoon asseblief my swak Afrikaans. Veral agterwiel...

    Strategic future of adventure biking

Whilst definitely not in the 500 EXC-F league in it's day, this photo (hopefully to be attached herewith) of my wife and I on my '83 XT550, from almost 40 years ago, shows that when we were small (and weighed a lot less) & Christmas trees were tall. Just look at the space between us (I'm sure I...

    F800 GS vs F850 GS

My son bought my 800GS from me. He won one of those obstacle course challenges on it but mentioned that he'd have done better if he rode a 1200GS, due to its lower centre of gravity. I also believe the 1200 is more comfortable and powerful. Shaft-drive, i.e. not having to replace chains &...

    New Suzuki V-Strom 250 – R58,000!

I really like this bike and am tempted to buy it. Despite the bargain price of R58900 plus R2500 on-road fees, I still find it difficult to part with the cash, as being retired, it would have to come out of "oudag" savings. Also, of the countless, mainly dual-purpose bikes I've owned since my...

So my wife asked me …..

Good review of a great bike. My son works at BMW Motorrad, so has to assemble/service/repair/test ride them all. This is one of 2 of his favourite Beemers.

So my wife asked me …..

Combination of poor memory and including those I bought for my boys, I can never come up with the same tally but my one son counted 20 before he was 20 years old and I had plenty before he was born.
