Yup, you nailed it. Even though there is a good chance that remaining wound over the ankle will heal without a graft, it is a relatively thin, (and under greater tension) barrier. According to The Guru in these matters, thicker is better (if it 'takes' ).

More. Day 26 post MVA and the worst of the wounds are over the left ankle. She will need a full thickness graft. But it's amazing how quickly they have healed/are healing. The NPWT did its thing. Spirits are up :)

We arranged medic assist plus she had a friend that flew from Denpassar to Singapore, Dubai, ORT, CTI. Wheelchairs and opiates and airport lounges. As of Friday she has a Negative Pressure Wound Therapy system. This will make a potentially substantial difference to the healing of the ankle wound.

I did a work trip in June/July from Stellenbosch to Nairobi (sadly not on the 650GS) and saw a ton of customised bikes, but nothing remotely as multi-storied as this one. Malkopbaai?

Thanks, you are right, its that 'hole' on her left ankle. She's OK. Just back from the Plastic Surgeon (a Ducati nut). Compartment Syndrome no longer a risk (infection much more of a potential challenge). We flew her back 2 days later. Was immensely relieved to have her back. They did a good job...
