    KTM Virgin ...

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.

'Dropped valve', is this common and what next?

Most ‘dropped valves’ in bikes I have had the pleasure of repairing or just stripping to quite, have actually been conrod big end bearing failures and the extra movement caused the piston and some of the valves to meet. Although anything is potentially repairable, I will not personally pay for...

Cam Wear. Any examples in SA?

I’ve recently had a 350 in with a failed oil pump. The oil jets were not supplied any pressurised oil, only lubrication to the head was splash lubrication from the cam chain. They realised there was a problem as the bike would die after idling for a while. Turns out that it would size, as the...

    For Sale TuneECU

TuneECU cable and software for 690/990 and Triumph I believe. Software support for the KTMs has stopped, so getting tricky to get a download. This comes with the software on a CD. I used it on a couple if 990s, a 690 and a very early 1190. As I see as many 1290s as 990s, I needed to go a...

Help me decide - Sertao or XT660R

Could not find an air filter from the agents for an XTR last year. Had to wait for 6 weeks. Client did not want to go aftermarket. BMW parts can also be tricky if there is not a dealership in town. I use Goldwagen for F8GS and R12GS service parts

    Flywheel puller needed

Doing a bottom end on a 990 and I need the 2 bolts to pull the flywheel. Anybody have those kicking around that I can buy? Or maybe rent for about 2-3 months after which I’ll courier it back to you?
