Thanks lecap. Luckily it was not the carb, of all things it was a loose battery terminal, the last thing any research suggested :) but realized immediately riding it at night and watching my lights go crazy. side panel off, quick turn of the screw and all is well...hope its always that easy ;)

Meh, whats a bit of plastic when you are having a good time, if anything my bike "looks" meaner now with them off. Was an absolute blast, I expected it to be a lot harder with my slick on the back, can't wait to try it again with a new tire.

Bought myself a pair, first boots I've ever owned so can't really compare long term to anything else. I find them damn comfy and they feel fairly tough.
