I have used Wiseco and Wossner on KLR's with no problems , admittedly Wiseco is my first choice

    KLE500 Clutch...Phok ek soek raad

Kawasaki have a mechanism that only allows you to get 1st and neutral at a standstill , there is nothing wrong with the gearbox from that side . Remove the plugs and push the bike in 1st gear , the engine should turn .

At one of the track days he got a bit too marinated and seeing as I had space on the trailer he asked me to take the CBX with me and ride it through to him the Sunday . Ou Kaapse weg was so lekker I did it a few times . He also helped me tremendously when I started racing, he always gave good...

A lot went down which brought about their eventual closing . Ironically 3 of those involved afterwards have passed away while the original two are still around .

The shop was sold to John McEwan and Brett Cllarke , Brett left and took over the Powerflow motorcycle division in Durban . He passed away about 16 years , definitely a great loss . I rode that CBX of his , it was an absolute blast . I think it is at Bikers forge now .

I was 18 with my first bike , MTX200R , I bought Hi Tech reeds from them , when I came back next time round they asked about the reeds . The fact that they remembered had a huge impact on me , and of course they gave me 10% discount which made me feel even more special.. The fact that they gave...

One place I was employed at we imported lots of performance goods , I would walk past the shelf and see these items , after a few days I would buy it , and so it continued ......... Not one of my bikes was standard 😁 , even an SR500 I bought for use as a commuter ended up with a high...

The RG250 with YOVS motor . Never did that but we did fit an RD125LC engine into an RZ50 , we would go over speed traps at 120 + then tell the cops it was impossible because it was only a 50 . Never got a fine 😁

Iff there is space try and lengthen the gap between carb and filter with a spacer 25mm to 40mm long . This can often boost midrangd and top end .

I started on air cooled RD's and progressed from there to the later LC and YPVS models . At least I can say that my bikes were always faster than my mates equivalent bikes , even when they were modified . On the LC and YPVS I didn't do much on porting but did do the squish on both , for me that...

The boost bottles / tubes were to collect some of that charge for better throttle response when opening from a closed throttle or when changing gears . No one else used them so I don't think they were that effective . The plume will be slightly affected by blowback , but bear in mind that your...

I have seen enough of that on dyno's , the plume ( blowback ) is present on 2 and 4 strokes , the higher the rpm the longer the plume , looks impressive . But it is not a result of running rich .

Then it should be fine , but theory and practice sometimes don't gel , so trial and error is the order of the day . Those Dragsters are a blast , even as standard , so with what you have done it should be a rocket

A larger carb would generally work best in conjunction with other engine mods , by raising the carb I presume it is with a spacer between the carb mounting and the crankcase . If that is the case it could boost the bottom end which you might lose a bit of with the larger carb .

Why was the G450 considered to be so bad?

I tested it alongside a KTM450 and I wasn't impressed at all , performance wasn't bad but I found the suspension to be disgusting . Terrain that the KTM would sail over the BMW was all over the place , not at all confidence inspiring . Perhaps BMW should have spent more time on development...

Some fun for the Kapse Ouens ... Funduro - 5th October

The cost was always a factor , a lot of the guys that partake in the competition side do so to have a different place to ride , but yes it is costly . When I was doing enduro's we would have up to 200 entries at some events . But it was more affordable then .
