Having the kickstand mount transferred from the 83 frame to the 82 frame and a piece of the 83 down tube welded over the dent on the 82 frame. Have more or less decided to chuck in the idea of using the front end of the 83.

Lastly, the 82 Frame has this massive graunch in the front down tube that the engine mounts to. Do I need to get it repaired? If so how?

Do you think this can/should be welded or is it FUBAR? One of the 83 steering yokes

Hey Katana I came right. Not sure if the homebrew penetrating fluid was effective or not, but the solution I saw on Greco's thread for driving out the stem race worked a charm. And on my practice swingarm - came out pretty easy

I didn't know you could have this much fun with your clothes on! Started dismantling the 83 forks and shock, my idea is to use these to practice, although most likely I will use the forks as an upgrade. I also started a trial with pooratech penetrating fluid to see if I could continue...

Yip it is - the bottom yolk of the RE however has a crack in - do you think it can be welded? Will post a pic later

Hey Mike Thanks for the advice. If you look at the first post you will see a pic of what I have - no engine, no plastics, frame crossbar hacked off, rear wheel spokes completely rusted, Yamaha disc brake. I do have the carbs, and airbox without the cover, not sure if those are of interest to you.

Ok thanks Perhaps I will take side by side pics, so can show the difference, also a problem on one of the triple clamps that I need advice on - will definitely be calling on superfoxi when the time comes!!

It is a 82 frame, but not mine, further up, is a pic of my stripped one, which has had the rear section cut off.

Hi Beebop Actually have some good pics which I will attach, am hoping for some measurements, to make sure everything fits on rebuilding. Don't have a rear mudguard yet, the one I have has been cut down.
