Nanny State indeed!  There is a lot of places I would like to visit on a bike though.  Like Poeppels Corner (Poephol se hoek) close to the Sompson desert. Other than that I have to say I mis the freedom.  Thanks for the post and I will surely try not to sew mailbags!
