I would grind and fill and put a 6x15 mm alu strap around the outside also welded to the swingarm.

I know biking has always been dangerous, but my argument is that it is much more so than when our parents rode. It's been touched on in the Beetle thread as well. It depends greatly on what area you live in. Many more people live in SA cities than 30/40 years ago. Just from my own experience...

So the oil pressure light is gone? Sure it was not a low oil warning? On my car the lights look the same, just a different colour. 15 months is not excessive with those miles and modern oil. But ja I would change the oil a few times and drive it hard. If its going to blow up I'd want it...

That's how I have it as well. MAF sensor on intake and lambda on exhaust should provide closed loop control to compensate for altitude and temperature changes, as well as better breathing.

30k km is quite a short diff oil change interval, interesting. Oil still looks new. Is that wire for a diff lock actuator?
