Thanks for the idea. When I tried that it moved the switchgear too far across because it had to clear the hydraulic clutch reservoir. And if I shift the clutch perch across it is difficult to pull the lever.

I am still a bit old school, but do use OSMAnd and Google maps around known roads. But for plotting routes i use Google Earth and Basecamp with T4A to set a route or track for my ZumoXT, because of the “off-road” paths and tracks that i can pick up. Do the options mentioned have detailed off...

One thing that really struck me when I was there (South Island) was how all the roads are well maintained. Riding in the middle of nowhere I would come across cones or tape where repairs had been identified. Or there would be a work crew fixing the road or wash-away.

That Triumph 800 was super smooth. They changed the crank firing angles for the 900 and it is not as smooth.

I see that Touratech make a 30mm lowering kit for the R but then the seat height is still 850 which is more than the Adventure which is 830 (low setting). Only being 5'7" tall (?short?) the seat height was an important factor in my selections.

OK - I'm being dof but I cannot find any spec sheet for a 790 Adventure S. What are the differences to a plain Adventure.

Thanks for the contact. I was trying to stay away from the R because of my short legs. Plain Adventure is just manageable and I'm worried the extra 50mm may be a problem in uneven terrain. I will see what other responses I get.
