1150 GS Indicator issues

Hi all, I took del of an old 1150gs this week from "Just plain dan". mechanically in great cond just needs tiying up. The bike had little superbike type non led indicators on it and they falshed very quickly, i put this down to bulb size. I put on F650 type indicators yesterday with a std bulb they still blink fast on the normal switch but blink normally when i switch on the hazards?

can anyone explain a fix in simple terms?

Short of that what a gartifying little project it is turning out to be!
