1290R vs 1290S

My last few bikes have all been "s" type- 19" front. All because im only 1.78. Sooo now i bought an R. With progressive suspension.It feels like a totally different bike!! Fantastic smooth. Now is it the bike or is it me? I am enjoying it sooo much.

Is it such a totally different bike?
