Im posting on behalf of friend of mine who had this bike rebuilt from the floor up.
He bought it from Albie of Vanderbijlpark, they do this kinda thing big time there.
The engine was from a 2006 or 2007 model and only had 6000km on the clock before it crashed.
The other bits are from different bikes.
Its registered as a code 3, 2005 model, so I suppose the frame was a 2005?
Anyway, the bike runs good, me and him had many a trip together, through Lesotho and allover.
Few things that needs attention or repairs:
The clock cluster does not display the km's on it.
ABS works then dont, someone told hom he needs another ABS ringy thingy in front, he dont have the right one one there.
Needs a mirror
The "tailpiece" behind the seat lacks and he put the topbox ritht there, which actually make it a lot lower and therefore the weight is much lower than normal.
Needs the BMW badges.
The friend of mine is a "no nonsense" type of guy, as long as the bike did the job, he was not worried about the cosmetics and farkles.
So I guess it will fit such a similar attitude person as well or with a few rands it can be made stock standard if you wish.
