I have been using DID 520 VM and EK 520 MVXZ chains, together with PBR front and rear sprockets, but find that I typically don't even manage to get 10000km out a set before the sprockets' teeth are badly bent. Now it's time to replace 'em again.
I'm wondering if anyone's considered using 525 chains instead of 520, together with thicker sprockets, too. Anyone know where I could get such sprockets laser-cut?
To head-off the usual arguments:
* The chain's not over tensioned.
* I clean and oil it after every ride, and have tried wax and wet lube
* I have two Dakars, which I ride very differently, and the wear patterns reflect this. I believe I'm just hard on this bike (throttle has only 2 positions)!
