A SHORT GETAWAY -CRADOCK AREA

Dit was uit die boeke, dankie. Ek vermoed dis eerder aanloklik, ek kan verkeerd wees, maar ja, jy het nie 'n uitnodiging nodig nie, sê net wanneer ek jou sien dan gaan wys ek jou die mooi area.

I plotted a route that should take me to a tunnel through the mountain, the road is however not there anymore, seems as if a plantation is where the road should be. We push forward, riding next to the planation looking for our track.

We eventually connect with the track on my GPS, so, we good to go.
We follow the twee spoor.

We follow the track and low and behold, we find the tunnel.

I enter the tunnel, the 1st 50meters or so it's fine, the next moment I see effol, only the light at the end of the tunnel, I see nothing on the road. I head for the light at the end of the tunnel and hope there is no obstacles on the way.

Here the gopro shows the road surface, believe me, I could see nothing.

I reach the end of the tunnel and can see again, all went well.

The wife on her way through, she said she stood on the pegs and she could see the road surface.

Dankie, dis kwaai mooi, jy kan sien die winter is hier, maar dit is nog steeds mooi. Die volgende dag se trip was nog mooier.

Through the tunnel there is a quite steep downhill with a farm gate on the steepest part. I ride down and stop in front of the gate just to see that the gate only opens one way, yes, towards the bike, uphill. Pok man, it was no joke pushing the bike backwards uphill.
The scenery down made up for it though.

At the bottom the track on my GPS disappears again, I eventually follow a track close to my GPS track. Hope to find our route?

We get to an old farmhouse and ride through the yard and reconnect with my GPS track. The dog does not look happy though.
On route again and we head for Cradock.

We had a great day and arrived safely at camp.
We enjoyed a lekka curry pot to fight the cold.
