Well I was going to do the new years canal ride, but swambo's work has other ideas and I'll be looking after mini-me. So with some time on my hands, and a can of red Plastidip spray nearby I thought, what the hell. Red bikes are faster anyway.
So I spent the afternoon taking the panels off, washing them thoroughly and letting them dry in the sun. Then it's off to spend some quality time in the garage with the panels and the spraycan. Photo1+2 is the obligatory "before" photos, photo3 shows the can of Plastidip and the Plastidip gloss coat.
After one coat I have photo 4+5. Coat 2 (photo 6+7, a nice deeper red) is what I have 30 minutes later.
And an empty spray can.
I should have known that one can would not be enough, and I battled as it was to get that one can. I remember the Builders had only 2 cans in stock, and I stupidly only took one.
Oh well, they close at six and it's five now, so I jump into the bakkie and race off to... a closed builder's. Ai tog. It seems they decided to close earlier. What the? Public holiday's only tomorrow!
Oh well. Now she sits disassembled, waiting for coat 3 and 4. Hopefully they'll be open tomorrow, then I can finish her up.
Stay tuned...
