Looks like a lot of buttons!!
It looks more difficult than it really is though.
Honestly; most is clearly marked and self explainer and the most technical part to know when you running a loco is how to set the rig up so that the locos communicate with each other especially when you have a loco or locos on both ends of the train.
It get technical on the mainline where you need to set it up and dive it in order not to get that accordion affect because on a 1,1+mile long train (we see them up to 3 miles long) it can result in various catastrophic failures like breaking a connecting link-coupler and break loose or even derail as result.

But all I use when shunting/loading is the ‘reverser’ which makes the train change direction or go into neutral, the throttle and only to notch three and only the loco’s break.
However; it is a ton of horsepower and distributed between two locos so you got to pay attention. Working 100% blind only on radio coms.

Buddy those are people with ridiculously good skills, talent by the ton.
I am just a wannabe but enjoy it very much and will keep trying to up my skill
I tossed probably around 10 in the bin and am just keeping the ones I feel satisfied with.
A good sign though is that I have never quit on a piece of wood, always completed my project and then decide weather it is a keeper or firewood…expensive fire wood that is👀🤣

So I have just completed an Indian chief out of one of the books I bought, and am fairly happy with the result. Just need some final finish-sanding.

i think an idea would be to keep the rejects, till you have a load of them.
then somehow put them together as a sculpture, on a broomstick or like a totem.
Somehow I suspect it would be wanted by a collector.

So after operating the loco on ‘train loading day’ my back is just fine and I told the young men working with me; Freddy & Luan about the Blue River trail and showed them where it starts and told them I am going on a walk. They decided to follow and after a brisk two mile walk I saw them running in the last 200 feet.

On the way there I found 3 push bikes in the road, nobody to be seen. Then I spotted them playing in the river….bikes totally unattended in the trail which was rather busy. No care in the world, both bikes and people just safe and sound😅

We also went down and I tried to find a good future fishing spot Nd identified one hole that I would love to try fish soon.
Every year I buy my license and never used it yet so that has got to change.
I do not fish to eat but just catch and release.
I am no hypocrite and do eat fish and meat but I do not have the heart to take a living organisms live for several years already.
I am happy to pay for my groceries though, as long as I do not have to cull something.

Anyway, I have lost a vit of weight alteady and am down to 105kg now. Physio therapist suggested me to be around 90 so I am motivated. Got to do whatever it takes to get this back sorted.

Tomorrow I am back on the truck and rather excited about it, I have already cleaned the windows and done a pre-trip inspection on Friday afternoon just to be sure I can do just a tyre check and go first thing in the morning.

I’ll be hauling corn from Marietta Kansas to Frankfort Kansas.

Best👍

Kansas is wet, it’s bucketing down and I am enjoying this weather which reminds me of Gough Island😅

It is getting interesting where we load, holding my breath and diging deep for talent not to get stuck👀🤣

Ok I do understand the American culture and respect the American Midwest folks, it goes without saying. Hard working honest people, good hearts.

However; I haven’t seen much of the pissed off version but I suppose when a guy telles you straight to your face he is ‘severely pissed off’ you got to get out of there👀

I helped this guys which is under tremendous amount of pressure and I see it’s going south rather quick so the good old samaritan spirit kicked in and I ran to his aid and worked hard helping him to catch up and all for a good amount of time. So the pressure is off him and he grabbed a tool from my hand…I said let me help you we almost done…but he chased me away and tell me bot thank you but f$&@“ you….19 years huge strong lad, he will make serious damage to my old body so I saud sorry I helped and left….🙈

Days of our lives
Still a beautiful day though🚂🎷
The lapwing chases me from her eggs and look at that Amish buggy in the picture
