Would be nice if you had a small mobile bucket conveyor system to just lift the corn back into the bin. Then you just shovel it in at the bottom. No need to lift shovel so high.
Just a short section with electric motor. Move it around where you need it. Small buckets on the belt.

I know that mobile conveyers Chris, there are plenty models available but none of them will work down in the bootpit.
Not enough space.
These places are rather cramped
Then you got all sorts of other safety hazards
Remember grain dust is highly flammable and everything down there is designed with special care and sensors monitoring heat and so on with trip switches.
HSE will never allow another mechanical machine of sort doen there.

I have this dream of an American train trip through the Rocky mountains.
Just had a look at prices
Will cost about $250 for a round trip - just thinking of a treat later the year in summer….maybe.

Had this dream of riding a BDR on a motorbike but everything cost $ and I am trying to build some sort of a saving/pension
It’s ok to dream.

I may do the train trip - Freddy is keen to join35EBB7AC-69F5-467C-ABFE-605193B97692.png DBA28D7C-2543-4CBE-B663-6D597C09F04A.png

It did that on the Greyhound bus. Bought a month pass and got on and off where I wanted. You drive 50miles and see a nice town you get off. Stay in town have a look see tomorrow you catch another bus all for the price of a month pass which was i think 89 usd in 1991.

Sound like a great and cheaper way to see a bit more of America Chris.

My interest however is growing a bit on trains which is big in the USA so I will probably if at all take the train.

At Grand Junction I can stay a couple days and hike the trails in the Rocky mountains.
For now just a dream, who knows.

I see nice suction pumps for soybean guess corn too.

They output of those things is laughable. You can’t take them serious. Nothing beats 2 or 3 men with scoop shovels for time.
For instance: the only and most effective way to pick grain up in confined spaces other than scooping is a ‘grainvac’
I often uses a grainvac.
To set up a grainvac:

Hook it to you truck and haul it into position where a truck will fit under the output spout.
Haul the hose trailer into position.
Bring a tractor and connect to the pto of the grainvac.
Now you need a minimum of 3 people.
Connect the hoses to go in the shortest route.
For ever hose you add the semi will tak approximately 15 min longer to fill.
Start up and vac.
We have scooped approximately 500-600 bushels yesterday, that is half a semi.
A vac can do 1000 bushels in 50 min while using 3 length of suction hose.
We may vac all of yesterday’s spill in 25-30 min yes.
Now break up and put everything away.

The set-up and break up of a grain vac with 3 people will take no leas than an hour +
The actual vacking 25 min.

See what I am saying?

Tom,

I've watched a few videos on Joutjoep about travelling by Amtrak and I must say it seems the way to go. A Rockys trip will be awesome .... check out what cabins are the best etc..... quiet a few videos about what is the best option.

Thanks Biesie
I will rather do that and pay more for a better experience because the trip will all be about the train travel and little about the designation.
Thank you!!
