Another tyre Thread I know, but I'm in the dark here.
I need a new rear tyre for the old XT.
Currently have Mitas E07, size is 130/80-18 at the rear.
Front is a Dunlop D 605 F. Front still good, BUT yes, if I can get 2 "similar" tyres it'd be nice.
I'm using the XT for longer trips, I'd say about 50/50 tar and gravel. I weigh around 95kg's, always ride solo, occasionally with some luggage (about 10/15kg at most)
I'm shit scared of punctures, so I'd like as "puncture resistant" as possible
1) What size is that front tyre size, what is the "equivalent" size for it (Size on tyre is 3.00-21).......??
2) What would the Guys in the know recommend I get?? Must say I liked the Mitas, but it did wear a wee bit quick....not a deal breaker, just saying
3) I would like the "same" tyres front and rear - sommer net. Or do I keep that front Dunlop for now??
4) Lastly - I have "semi" HD tubes with slime in them at present - should I change the tubes too with the new tyres, or can the "slimed" tubes be used again, or not advisable??
5) OK really last question........Who sells these, obviously I'd prefer supporting a Memmer in here??
