Gaan ry hom.
2SD. It’s difficult, because everyone did not use its own petrol all the time. I took full tank and 40 lit extra petrol. The GS 1200 took full tank and 37 lit extra, and Weskus took full tank and 30 lit, and the DRZ full long range tank with 27lit extra.2StrokeDan said:Weskus, could you guys tell us how much each bike consumed in petrol from Ruacana to Tombua?

What would be the preferred bike to take on a trip like this?
Not necessary what was the best bike on the trip but what would be your choice if you could do it all over and and did not have a DS bike to start with.
I actually took the full tank of the bike and an additional 37 lt, 3 x 10lt's (one plastic 10lt hanging on the pillion footpeg on one side) and the 7lt bladder...Jy moet oplet Bob Marley..Legadema said:2SD. I rode my bike with the full 40lit up to the start of the doodsakker, and filled it on the way from Agteros’s containers to make the 1200 GS lighter. I went through the akker with more or less 4 litres still left in the jerry cans. The bike that uses the less fuel was the 400DRZ and then the 800 GS. The bike that used the most fuel was the1200GS, but I think it had to do with Agteros riding style. Think my fuel consumption on the 990 was more or less 12km/L
It's not about the bike, but all about the capability of the rider on a specific bike.Rolling Stone said:After reading this tread I am still stuck with one question in my mind.
