(see post on page 2 for update)
So me and Trevor Goosen managed to complete the Doodsakker just after April 10th roughly.
I actually thought he would post a note here but seems he did not.
We ended up in some serious trouble in Angola and in all this trying not to die without water and being lost as F@CK! , we managed to make Espenheira one night after sunset. (yes people, with 3 gp's and ton of preplanning when you enter no mans land 22 days after borders opened guess what, the desert took back all the roads during covid, no one was there, no one drove it, all T4A all previous tracks are GONE)
Much to our surprise Parks board gents from RSA were there, specifically a gentleman named Leon Lambrecht. They assisted us that night and hooked us up with water and a ton of information.
One bit of striking news was that by roughly August 2022 doodsakker /Iona / Foz basically everything NORTH of Foz (coast) will be OFF LIMITS TO ALL BIKES AND QUADS. Only approved concessions with trackable GPS in 4x4's will be allowed. Due to the idiots (locals and imbeciles ) that were running turtle nests and endangered bird specie nests to **** while trashing the dunes.
In layman's terms- BIKES TO BE BANNED- PERIOD. We asked if they will allow you to take your bike while hiring someone who is part of the concession to lead in a 4x4 ( answer there seems also NO) 4x4 only. So that is not an option either for now.
So gents and ladies, If you still want to do Doodsakker as a bucket list, your time is running out.
