This post is not to start a fight or name-calling at all. Merely an observation.

A couple of years back, IT & photographic equipment was much cheaper in the UK even compared to SA prices. Now they have more or less levelled out, given the import duties being laxed.

So my query would be... why the massive difference in Jacket (just taking one items now) prices compared to the UK.
A jacket I can get sent from the UK - nogal a retail shop (not the suppliers) - would arrive here within 7 days for the princely sum of GBP-130 (+/- R 1980.00 - the price includes shipping as well as the 17.5% VAT refund) - yet the same jacket is sold for over R 3000.00 here!
And NOPE do not tell me that it's import or custom's duties! The dealer markup is 40%, which adds nearly a thousand rand to the price. Boots that "cost" just over a thousand runt to the dealer is sold with a markup of more than R800 runt!!!

??? - even PC's & Notebooks don't have there types of margins......  :-\
