I got lost in December while I was there.  Ended up on private property and lekker vasgesit in die modder.

The old man who works on the farm later asked Milly: "Miesies - ken julle die pad.  Hy's nie vir karre nie".   :imaposer:

Needless to ay that I felt very bad getting lost, but I entered from Ugie's side.  I know the road from the top, maar nou ja.

As jy dom is, dan moet jy bloei.

Think I must go back to do it!!

Good to see the tankbag is being used  ;D

I love that tank bag !  8)

My light rain suit, tyre levers, puncture kit, pump, tool kit and six " beverages " live in there

Those " beverages " have saved the day a few times, ask Thump !

Hi GlInk
Great pics, thanks for sharing.
One of the first RRs I read was of someone riding to Misty Mountain for a beer.
One day, soon hopefully, I will do the same!  :deal:

My pa het jare gelede vir die Toubers geboer en  1 keer n maand het ons van Ugie opgery as kind, foto`s laat my freeslik verlang.

Hi Glen. Good to see you'r up and riding, not scared of the cold either.
Great ride and some wonderfull pics.  One of those places on my to be list.

Any suggestions as to affordable accomodation for say 3 - 4 days to leave the wify while riding the area. Will have to trailer the bike there to accomodate her. Most probably early December school holiday? There are so many passes ?  Suggestions on possible routes?

When I did it with the two Kevins & Gunter it was wet and not only a ride but a side.
Down downs by all except Gunter.
But you all know by now is that you just pick those BM's up and just go.
Like to do it again but please not in the rain we had last time.  8)

Good one GI .... as you know the GG's always include this in our annual Lesotho Roof pilgrimage as a matter of course!  :thumleft:  Boet you are a brave man riding that trail alone in those conditions (or a bit mal ... actually do not answer we know...  :D) - believe me you fall and break a wrist with nobody around and you are going to need warm beverages swaar! But then to prarphrase Hemingway (I think) ' A life without adventure is no life at all' ... and a life without an adventure bike is just simply NOT LIVING!   :ricky:

PS dig that action pic with the horseman behing your KLR and the panorama - competition material (maybe a little PS tweak and is a winner).

You have some awesome rides out that way. I'm really thinking of semigrating to the cape :)

Bliksem, dit lyk lekker!! Thanks for sharing.

Schweet bike Glenink - regtig 'n mooi KLE.  :thumleft:

Correct, the blueish route on my map, thats the whole route.

The co-ords I gave are for the summit of the pass.

From my place, ride the loop back to my place in Elliot is +- 100km, takes a few hours ........:ricky:

Beers in tank bag recommended  :3some:

depending on the amount of tubes you packed :imaposer: :pot:

Lekker RR en pics Glen.    Daai pad is nog onvoltooide besigheid op my agenda.

Nice one Glen The Greyhounds (15 Strong ) will be going up via Elliot on the 19th of November stopping over in Rhodes. Maybe you can join us some of the way?  :ricky:
