Awesome report, Noneking! :thumleft:

I noticed the absence of the poop-scoop... and all the mud... I must say that without the poop-scoop my GS/A is much dirtier above the wheel (the wheel well?), and I prefer keeping the poop-scoop present.

Poop scoops don't last offroad in my opinion. Especially rocky terrain can easily break them. I lost poop scoops on both my GSAs.  Righard removed his in Fouriesburg after Mike Grimsted and Thomas Bohm advised him to do so in Fouriesburg.

......... and the Beemers look a lot more aggressive without them. Almost KTM ish :peepwall:

Until it comes loose or is grabbed by your tyre and wraps itself into your wheel and caliper ...  ::) :-\

Exactly. My understanding is that it is really only there to satisfy a German law requiring a certain percentage of a bike tyre to be covered by a fender.

I concur.....
After watching a mate come to a skidding/sliding halt on a dirt road one morning, and while he chopped and fought with the destroyed remains lodged in his rear wheel & swingarm, I took the opportunity to slowly and carefully remove mine, which is still stowed in the garage on the shelf for when the next owner requires it.....

A must do  :thumleft:

Thank you!

Absolutely. The high lying areas of the Eastern Cape has long been a favourite riding area of mine.

Great video by Mr Kamstra! He's got an unfair advantage - those long legs are like having training wheels in tricky terrain...
