bezuidenhouts + naudes pass

Hi all, doing bezuidenhouts pass and nuades nek in the near future. I see there are a few gates on bezuidenhouts pass, are they locked?, are you allowed to travel through the pass without any issues? On google it says for naude's nek it says you need a permit, is that correct?
