Anyways i decided to go take a look...in my humble opinion..:

Expensive entry, heard folk saying it was steep
Much of the same food trucks and pricey
Didn't find many of the advertised events: Bike wash, concourse event etc..maybe i was blind
Very few biking kit stands
Tattoo ouens had a que almost the whole weekend
Bar was okay, with no wait longer than 2 to 3 minutes.
SPCA had a tent for kit storage , was nice to see the bikers using the offering
Weather was great..

Some pics ..not too many as my battery died early on Sat avie..

Noticed one oddball, he was on a mission of note...

shows werent too bad , even a Elvis impersonator..Spot teach's bike at the bar, security gave him kak for this ..

All in all always nice to get out BUT in many peoples eyes a glorified rally.

any of you attend..

Not my type of event... maar daai Ducati's  :drif: :drif: :drif:

In my Sat. AM. breakfast group one or two expressed an interest, but by consensus we made a point of avoiding it and headed in the opposite direction.

To me those events are great if you are actually participating, but a pain in the arse if you're not.  :-\

I went to 2 of the Bikefest they had in Margate. Its actually great. I avoid normal Rally's.

I went there on Sunday. All the action was Saturday it seems. Not too many people on Sunday.

I think it was advertised kak, that is all.

Think you spot on Dikkes  :lol8:

Excuse my ignorance ; has this superceded/taken over from the Africa Bike Week which was in Margate?

The above I attended once, just rode from home to Margate ( 150 kms ) for the day. The first 2 hours were ok ( as in entertaining ) then I just wanted out, most of those peeps are err....a tad different to me.

No, its like a Mini Bike Festival.

Got there Saturday, thought I should have been there on Friday.

I think if you go in a group of friends you can kuier nice, I also think they should hand out programs at least for how much you pay to be there.

And to make matters worse, I never won the BMW competition at Windfarm either. :(

I remember a comment from a hardened bike rally fan:
"Remember, it's just a three-day fancy dress party..."

Live and let live.
