I visited Mtunzini for a few days last week, was involved in a lot of bundu-bashing, and only really had time for one morning walking with the camera. Did manage to get 3 new lifers.

Love the name "Geelkeelkalkoentjie".

That Mtunzini is quite a birding paradise. Haven't actually visited it since the early 80's.

I believe so, unfortunately, I was there on other matters and did not get the time to really sit still and observe.

Baie mooi, soos gewoonlik. Ons het die anderdag 'n paar ground hornbills (soos die kraai vlieg) so 25km Suid-Wes by 'n gronddam sien rondloop. Dit lyk tot die voëls wil nou al Weskaap toe trek.

Malachite sunbird visiting the flowering Quiver trees in our garden

Lots of Black shouldered Kites around. This pair raised 2 juveniles in our orchard.
Also lots of Pale Chanting goshawks around. Spotted this juvenile close to our place

Here is a shot of a a violet backed starling i took few months back. My proudest bird pic to date.

Anyone travel with big lens and camera on their bike ? if so how to you keep camera safe from falls and vibrations ?
