Spoke to a chap from a insurance company and he told me WHY so many 1200 GS BMW's are written off ??? He told me that they did some research and found out that if one had to buy every single part of the 1200 separately it would set you back R1.2 Mil. So at the end of the day the bike gets scrapped because of the repair cost's involved 
The damage may be minimal but the parts are toooooo expensive. Now i was thinking ;D Can Bmw sell me a 1200 GS. I will take delivery of all the parts they do not even have to assemble the bike for me and save the oils and all the other thing's that come with it. I will sell the spares to the agents at a reduced price Say R 500,000.00 and the have enough left over to maybe buy A new Bmw cash and a 990 ktm : :
