I recently got a new 1250 gsa after trading in my 2016 1200gsa. I loved the old bike apart from costing me R26k+ for the last service as the front shock had to be replaced.(23k kms)
Maybe I’m just technologically challenged but I’m not enjoying the new tft and the way it works at all. My iphone (13) looses bluetooth with the bike often. Playing music just doesn’t work most of the time and it seems very slow to react, Adjusting volume with the wheel does not work. After making a call (while riding) the app exits and needs to be restarted. The app only runs in portrait mode except for the map display.( I got a charging cradle which sits in the gps bracket) The only option I get for choosing a destination is POI and favourites , while riding at least.
So I made peace with the fact that I will just use my old nav v , connect my phone directly to the Sena, and ignore the other technological advancements, which at this time is mostly a frustration. The rest of the package is good as always and the bike is a pleasure to ride. (except for the quick shifter which should rather not be used lower than 3rd gear)
Maybe I’m the only one feeling like this..

Sad thing is, you cannot really visit the dealer with these kinds of issues because I doubt they are tech-savvy enough to address it.

Fensie-funksies is nie vir my nie.

'nee my radar cruise control werk nie'
dan moan n 10 jarige

nee my cruise control werk nie
dan moan n 20 jarige

nee my gps werk nie
dan moan 30 jarige

nee my traction control werk nie
dan moan n 40 jarige

nee my abs werk nie
dan moan n 50 jarige

nee my fuel injection werk nie
dan moan n 60 jarige

nee my elektriese petrol pomp werk nie

I loved my 1150 too, but it was time to move on. I'm old school and also very anti electronic technology, but I've
also matured to realise that time marches on, and new technology isnt all bad. My biggest gripe is that where
I could do 100% of my maintenance with DIY tools on the 1150, the newer rides need some specialised stuff.
I cant just adjust tappets, I now need to buy shims, but they stay in spec longer. If electronic fail, its not as easy to fix
on the side of the road, but it fails less often.
I love the 70's and 80's bikes, especially the Kawa's of which I've owned plenty, but I've also come to realise that
nostalgia doesnt make up for the time and money spent maintaining, or the poor handling, poor braking etc.
Different strokes and all.

I have a R1150GSA and a 2015LC. I love the 1150, but it is a donkey by comparison.

I’m also using an iPhone and Sena with the TFT and it’s great. The pairing sequence is very important, join the BMW connectivity group on FB, you’ll find lots of great info on there, and none of the “my old skedonk doesn’t have this problem” crap.

I ride an old Honda.....
I don't have any of the above problems!
Nor do I , but then again when I am on the bike I do not want to be interrupted , that is me time to savour the scenery and ride , and clear out my mind .

dont you have to turn ABS off manually, while standing still, every time the bike even stalls?

thats about as intrusive as it gets

It seems the issue is the tech on the BM is BM specific, unlike the tech on the Honda AT for instance which is Android/Apple Car Play compatible which the BM is not..... causes some issues as you rightfully experience... The Honda is way better on the tech front from what I have read and seen, but the BM is an overall better package (bike). I personally think Honda has chosen the right option here, not sure why BM chose this route though, maybe somebody can elaborate?
