A top quality fast and efficient fix for the flimsy & breakage prone bleed nipple of the rear brake calipers of all 1100cc and 1150cc oilheads:
Although BMW sells the bleed nipple separately you still had to take the set screw out of the caliper and remove the snapped bottom half of the bleed nipple without damaging the threads and the sealing seat. The set screw is not available separately but comes together with the complete brake caliper - and with a hefty price tag of some R4000 attached.
I have the set screw, machined from stainless steel complete with cadmium plated high tensile steel bleed nipple and the necessary copper washer.
The set turns a snapped bleed nipple drama on the R1100's and R1150's rear brake caliper into a minor 2 minute niggle.
The replacement is less prone to seize and snap than the OEM part thanks to its superior materials and finish.
