BMW R1150GSA tail light unit melted!

Hi guys

My pig's tail light died and when i removed the red cover to check the globe, i saw the stem of the globe was melted into the bayonet light fitting...and the bulb was also blown  :dousing: I still have to check the fuse, I see it should be 15A and maybe it is a higher rated fuse. All other lights running of the same fuse is still working

Now i am unable to replace the globe as the entire fitting is completely melted

BMW quoted R680 for the replacement piece. I think they might be smoking their own onderbroeke over there because that is insane.

Does anyone know of an atermarket alternative? Will some other more generic bike's tail light fit?
If i cant find a cheaper one, perhaps some LED alternative?
