We all know that the new G450X's engine will be made by Kymco, a Taiwanese manufacturer.

But BMW is now pushing its strategy to cut labour cost a little further, as the G650X series will soon be manufactured by Loncin in China.
Note that Loncin is now competing in the GP 125cc!

The labour cost per hour for a German worker is about 27 Euro, for a Taiwanese 7 Euro, and for a Chinese 1.8 Euro!

In 2007, BMW manufactured 40 000 cars in China (Serie 3 and serie 5) mainly for the Asian market.

Will the South African, European, and American consumers be able to tolerate to have their own motorcycles with 'Made in China' or 'Made in Taiwan' written all over the engine?
