i am reading...

feel your pain in this post......my good friend just lost her daughter at 29 while giving birth to her grandchild....

cannot begin to imagine losing ones child......it must be the worst pain and sadness there is

your story and openness is appreciated

wish only that you will find peace and strength to cope at this time

Shiwa Ngandu. The original farm which has been in Mark's family since the beginning. There is a long history attached to it. I am not 100% sure, but I think his great grandfather walked the width of Africa, plotting, was given the land and developed the farm.

I will have to do some research when I have time to verify, but the buildings and surroundings are impressive.

The original stately main house seems out of place in this fairly remote part of Zambia.

The original clock tower.

From there it is a tree lined gravel section to Chisoso and onto the tarred T2 heading south.

I had again been invited to stay over at the Viljoens on Billis Farm outside Mulilima.

I hoped that he had good brakes on that bicycle, there was a very steep hill ahead of him.

The T2 tar road was in fairly good condition, but overloaded trucks and the lack of maintenance, results in some badly deteriorated sections, and at one of these, I stopped for a break.

It was a Sunday, there was a soccer match at the local school and a massive party going on with music blaring and many intoxicated locals all over.

but may I place this here, only in the hope to help lift the smallest amount of the unimaginable weight you carry:

Thank you for honouring my son in this way and reminding me why I am doing this.

The Viljoen family were waiting for me and everything was set up for a whole chicken on the coals.

These are REAL people, and I was blessed to have met them and experience their hospitality, generosity and kindness.

Imagine trying to take your kit out of the farm house to pack the bike and you have a bad tempered sheep to deal with, just looking for a opportunity to head butt you.
