Goudkop is an amazing place as it is, but there was so much more to my stay here.
I had briefly met Hennie Van Zyl at Oewerbos, on the Namibian border, and he offered me accommodation at Goudkop on his farm, which I gladly accepted, but I was not prepared for the full extent of his generosity.
The staff at the farm stall, Skrik van Rondom, on the farm, contacted me and asked me what I would like for supper. I wanted to braai and was invited to the farm stall to come and select what I wanted to put on the fire, and off I went.
Upon arrival, I was informed that Oom Hennie had contacted them, and whatever I wanted, was to be put on his account. That just blew my mind. A complete stranger had made the decision to bless me to this extent.
So, it was something I never had before, Chicken Skilpaadtjies and then Lamb Chops, rolls, potatoes from the farm and they chucked in some home made Cheese Cake.
Oh, and a cooler box filled with ice and beer. And more fire wood that I could ever use for 1 braai.
Got the fire going and started preparing what was going to be a feast of note
