Good morning Wilddogs, My wife and I are planning a circular route this weekend/Saturday from Badplaas via Barberton and Bulembu back to Badplaas mainly using tarred roads but adding some gravel from Bulembu to the N17.
Has anyone done this gravel route in the recent past?
Please advise what the condition of the road is? Any technical stuff or predominantly a normal gravel road? Is there Cellphone reception along this road?
Is the Diepgezet Village inhabited and worth a visit? Any other worthwhile stops on this section?
Can anyone suggest somewhere to have breakfast in Barberton?
I have done DP and DP1 courses with ADA but I have not done much gravel riding recently due to a compression fracture of my Lumbar spine and I do not want to take unnecessary risk on a too difficult road, especially as this is the first time my wife will go along on gravel.
Your advise is much appreciated
