Hey guys, you will not believe what i went through....SORRY NO PICS....WHAT?...i;m not Chuck you know!
Riding back fron Ceres on the back road & by the turn off to Clanwilliam i feel a few drops...
By the time i am in the Algeria valley it comes down...not in buckets...waterfalls bro.
I'm frikked...head down, visor frikked & the track turns to RIVERS. The thunder &lightning is pounding down on the tight hills around me & all i can think of is to get back to base.
At some points my boots are filling with water through depth....others i am throwing sheets of shit above me as i plough through...no vision...pick a line & give gas...IF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH HELL>>>>DONT STOP!!!
You kinda had to see it to get it....the frikken hailstones///vaalies will know/....will get you alone...
Got back to camp after the + - 30km gauntlet & found my site trashed. Both gazebos fucked & the scull on the tent thrown off & rain trashed my bedding & all clothing. Took 2 days to dry stuff out. EVEN IN THIS HEAT!! Boat beached.
Replaced the gazebos & now have shade.
I would have been done in i reckon if i had not put on Conti KTC 80's for the Cederberg. I think it helped me out when it hit the fan....besides that....they are just better for dirt & improved my ability...just a tiny bit!!
Pity no pics however tomorrow i am going to backtrack & see what the road looks like now! From there go through to Wuppertal over the jeep track & back to Clan & Lebanon for my outride.
