Dogs,
I've got 38 000 km on the OEM drive chain and sprockets, and have already bought the replacement set. My question is: when do I fit it? The old ones show no sign of excessive wear, no lost o-rings on the chain, no funny noises, no severely bent sprocket teeth.
I have read threads of people driving those sprockets till the teeth break off and the chain disintegrates...not that I want to push the limits too far, but I wouldn't want to throw away a good chain. The chain on my friend's klr derailed and locked up the rear - a scenario that I would prefer to avoid!
What are your thoughts?
