This has been discussed before but we refused to listen.
I chatted to Dirkie Baard this morning and he sadly tells me the entire Brandberg Conservancy is becoming out of bounds to bikes. This includes the Valley of Desolation, upper and lower Huab Rivers as well. It's a done deal and sadly more areas are likely to follow, including all riverbeds in Namibia.

The sole reason is riders behaving badly. Riding to fast in areas where there are animals, especially elephant , giraffe and rhino. Not respecting other track users and game watchers. Poor and disrespectful attitude towards the local people. We South Africans are the least liked tourists in Namibia and known for our arrogance and superior attitude. We've created a hostile feeling from Namibian tour operators looking to get us out.

Let's try and prevent more closures and respect the Namibian people and wild life. Don't be the guy or group that bangs the final nail in the coffin for all the adventure bikers of the world.

Already in the Western Cape many of own favourite tracks like the west coast (Hondeklipbaai - Groenrivier), Old Postal Route (Tankwa) and Droelands Pass (Tankwa) to name a few are permanently closed because adventure riders behaved badly. Not only do we ride like chops but then we post it on social media to show how 'fast we are' . Go race enduro and rally if you want to go crazy.
