Hi. I have the 2010 GSA and I recently had an issue with changing gears. I could change up but not down and would typically get stuck in 4th or 5th gear?? It happend twice, the first time was close to where I was staying and I manged to get her back home in 4th, couldn't get to the bottom of it so left her overnight to see if anything "reset"itself and it seemed fine the next day for about 6km before doing it again!! This time BMW on Call collected bike (on 01 Jan) and took it to PE (I got stuck in East London). I was told that they would have to open her up to check as the clutch seemed fine from the outside, therefore could be inside the clutch or the gearbox itself causing the problem. It was decided to rather send the bike back up to my Jo'burg dealership as I wouldn't be able to continue my trip with the GSA and in Jo'burg I could be kept informed of the repairs. As yet the bike is still not in Jo'burg (can you believe it!) so I don't know what BMW will have to say about this issue. Was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I read on the internet about something referred to as the "winding down"of the gearbox which apparently is the gearbox electronics "thinking" you are in first when you are actually in a higher gear and therefore can't change down???
