I managed to crack the sub-frame on my KLR while clearing the tabletop at Dirt Bronco......
Was thinking of welding it, which isn't a problem, but then though I might weld a couple of nails alongside the crack for extra strength. Did this on the crashbars some years ago and they've never cracked since.
Now, the question is, should I use normal wire nails or would skirting nails work better, or is there some other useful tip out there??
I'ts cracked under the luggage carrier, so I don't need to take it off to weld it but I also can't be arsed to take the whole bike on a trailer to a professional welder
