CT-2-JHB midway accommodation - looking for suggestions

Does anyone have suggestions for places to stay, midway between Cape Town and Joburg?

I'm riding up on the N1 next week, and want to overnight somewhere in the middle. Something basic, budget and biker-friendly.

Coming home, I'll be taking a longer scenic route...
