CT to Sutherland, solo (some more info please!)

Hi Guys.  A friend of mine invited me to join them for a weekend at Sutherland.  Most of them will be on superbikes so I'm thinking of doing some dirt on the way there seeing that I'm going to be riding alone anyways  .

Which roads would you guys reccommend?  Nothing technical, nothing dangerous, just some good gravel highways.

Never rode in that area before.  Maps would be much appreciated!
