We're having some trouble with the ABS system on a 2005 F650GS Dakar. Is there someone in the PE area who can plug-in a GS911 and help us out this afternoon? We're leaving for Cape Town tomorrow morning.
Or else has anyone got any advice fixing a similar problem?
Symptoms
The system will not deactivate. The indication light is working, as it comes on with the ignition during self-test and correctly extinguishes. The switch also works; holding it down for a few seconds causes the ABS light to flash, but the system does not remain deactivated. I've tested this by trying to lock-up the rear wheel and get the ABS "tik-tik" on the pedal as it prevents lockup.
History
The ABS indicator light was initially not working. It had a bad bulb which has now been replaced. We've also tried resetting the ABS unit (removing power for ~ 20 minutes).
