:'( :'( :'( Sadly today i had to drop off my bike to get the head gasket replaced.

After following the great advice from a now retired BMW bike technician in Lyndhurst Motorad who tried to help me in every way to fix my cooling issues by trying all the possible ways by telling me to change the radiator cap, then compression test the radiator, flush it,i checked and changed the impellar washer, the coolant sensor, the thermostat (which was shot and crumbled to pieces) then we thought that was the issue...Sadly not. Then i checked if the head was cracked an no not the problem either.
Unfortunately it has to be the head gasket. Now its off to be replaced and the head skimmed and fingers crossed it will come home fixed and ready for my next adventure.

If your Dakar has been giving cooling issues then it could just be your gasket. If the bike does over heat due to any other of those issues it can damage the head gasket and in pretty soon it will go.
Thats my 2 cents worth after what has just to me and my bike.Hope this story will help you in the future if you do have cooling issues.
Safe riding.
