I have finally reassembled my bike after taking it to bits to fix a dent in the tank, so I decided to add a few farkles while I was at it. The tank was originally a sparkly BMW type silver, so I had the tank resprayed black. I also got a bash plate from Runner and got that sprayed as well. The numberplate looked a bit silly hanging under the rear mudguard, so I sawed the black plastic bit off and mounted the numberplate on top of the mudguard. Once I had done that, I noticed that a trailwing was not the sort of tyre that you want everyone looking at and speculating whether you were actually a KLR rider, or some sort of BM rider in disguise, so I fitted a Dunlop 606 on the rear. Excellent tyre! I just had to bend the chain guard a bit out of the way because the knobblies were scraping against it. So now the KLR starts to look like an offroad bike, and offroad bikes can only be ridden standing up, so handlebar risers were acquired and duly fitted. And the result looks like such:
