De Wildt - here we come - a ride for the heavies.
Meet at the Engen garage at the 4-way stop in harties at 6am next wednesday, the 2nd Jan. DS ride only, we'll be on a public road here and there. We'll jump onto the dirt at harties and do gravel to De Wildt. Roughly 80-100km loop so don't overfill your tank - you will regret it.
This will be a stand-up ride, nothing 'too' hectic but not noob friendly - knobblies recommended but 50/50s will be okay. I was out there yesterday on similar, if not the same tracks and it was hot, very hot! For those who haven't been there, bring plenty hydration. Dress lightly, no big jackets, you will cook.
Bring the usual - puncture stuff, small tools, towrope and a sun hat. Rainsuits? Maybe a light jacket - but the rain will be a blessing. Bring goggles, riding with an open visor when hot is a bad idea - too many bushes and thorns
not being that familiar with De Wildt, we might , just might, take a few wrong turns so a sense of humour is mandatory.
Be ready to pick bike up occasionally and get some customised De Wildt scratches.
