Brings back memories........    :3some:
Had a couple of seriously drunken varsity weekends on a neighbouring farm    >:D

Vague memories stirring. Had my end of basics evaluation there for a week in April 1979. Those tracks were run out by me. Carrying a ammo box.

Mmmmm....... plenty of memories. That little hill is called Baviaans Berg. During advanced driver training with Garry, Bedford, Samil 20 +50, Buffel(Kotskoets), this was the highlight for any driver under training. Agree, the gradient is very steep. Ratel and especially Rooikat negotiated this opstacle with a breeze. Is De Brug a free for all now a days? Did you get permission to enter the training area, where were the gate guards? Just asking.

what guards, what gates, ride in and enjoy def not like old days if we got past the guards they would have most likely shot at us with noddy's or something nee wat no paraatness anymore when you do come across soldiers they hardly look at you, lekker dual ride though

Nice
That tweespoor looks very rocky, not something you'll want to try without a good set of knobblies.
:thumleft:

Wat is die situasie mbt ammo wat nie afgegaan het nie ? Sal maar n strontspul wees as iemand n dowerd raak ry

I was thinking the same thing in English. I remember having to walk around there at one stage of my life, looking for un-exploded heavy mortar shells, ID it for the Sappers to play with.

Remeber two brothers in 1981, who smuggled one back to the bungalos at 1 ParaBat, started to play with it, throwing it to each other, until it dropped on the floor. Going through the Parabats as a one legger, was not easy for the poor bugger.

You are a bunch of brave and perhaps stupid riders, but looks like you k@ked off same as we did all those years ago.

As daar niks skiet nie is daar niks dowwerts nie.
Leka pics G!  Sorry I missed that one, but we caught up in the afternoon.

Good old memories.

From a Noddy car to a Ratel. And destroying old car wrecks.

Not so sure on that one... the last proper clear up was done afaik way back in 1994 and since then there have been a lot of training exercises... I would not venture far off any tracks if I were to ride there. But there are a myriad tracks!

Don't think they use any indirect weapons that close to the fence.  I suppose there is a remote risk, but this group has been through there enough times with GSA's to confirm that there are no anti tank mines at least.    The puff adder that was seen there two weeks ago is a consideration however....

You are most welcome on the Sunday morning rides - 7:00 from the garage where Nelson Mandela / Zastron str split.
