Dirt exploring

Hi

What I want to do, about once a month maybe more , is get out of Johannesburg for a weekend. Stay somewhere and explore dirt roads in the surrounding areas. Come back on Sunday.

Plan is to leave on a friday afternoon. So Parys is an obvious one because it is close and you can explore along the Vaal river as an example. Dullstroom is another. Can leave for Dullstroom on a Friday. Explore Saturday and come home via loskop sunday.

I suppose bela-bela is another one? Any good dirt roads out that way?

Any other suggestions for places with cool dirt roads not more than 2 hours(on tar) or so from jhb?
